Croeso cynnes i Ysgol Ifor Bach    /    Welcome to Ysgol Ifor Bach.

 

Ysgol Gymraeg sydd wedi ei gwreiddio yng nghanol pentref Abertridwr yw Ysgol Ifor Bach. Mae’n darparu addysg o ansawdd uchel trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg i dros 270 o blant gyda’r Saesneg yn cael ei chyflwyno ym mlwyddyn 3. Golyga hyn fod yr holl ddisgyblion yn gadael yr ysgol yn hyderus ddwyieithog ac yn barod i’w trosglwyddo i Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni. Mae’r ysgol yn cynnig ystod o brofiadau addysgol cyfoethog ac amrywiol ac yn paratoi’r disgyblion i fod yn ddinasyddion dwyieithog cyfrifol sy’n parchu ei gilydd, eu cyd-ddyn, eu treftadaeth a’u hamgylchfyd.

 

Estynnir croeso cynnes i chi rhieni i ymuno yn holl weithgareddau’r ysgol, ac edrychwn ymlaen at bartneriaeth hapus, llwyddiannus a ffrwythlon yn ystod addysg gynradd eich plentyn.

Y Gymraeg yw iaith swyddogol yr ysgol. Cymraeg yw’r unig gyfrwng yn y Cyfnod Sylfaen. Cyflwynir Saesneg yn ystod cyfnod y plentyn yng Nghyfnod Allweddol 2.

Yn unol â pholisi dwyieithog yr Awdurdod Addysg, darperir adnoddau dysgu safonol i sicrhau bod disgyblion yn medru cyfathrebu’n hawdd ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig yn y Gymraeg a’r Saesneg erbyn iddynt adael yr ysgol.

 

Amcanion Cyffredinol Ysgol Ifor Bach:

ü sicrhau bod pob disgybl yn gartrefol mewn awyrgylch Gymraeg a
Chymreig.

ü symbylu pob disgybl i ddatblygu hyd eithaf ei allu, yn academaidd ac yn
ddiwylliannol, yn emosiynol, yn gymdeithasol ac yn gorfforol.

ü annog pob disgybl i feithrin a meistroli’r grefft o gyfathrebu drwy’r iaith
Gymraeg yn bennaf, a Saesneg fel cyfrwng arall.

ü gwerthfawrogi gwerthoedd moesol ein cenedl a’r byd, a chreu
ymwybyddiaeth o anghenion plant a phobl eraill.

ü sicrhau bod gan bob disgybl gyfraniad gwerthfawr mewn cymdeithas fyw ac
iach.

ü creu ymwybyddiaeth ac awydd am ddimensiwn ysbrydol bywyd, parch at
werthoedd crefyddol, a goddefgarwch at hiliau a chrefyddau eraill.

ü datblygu’r medrau sylfaenol ym mhob agwedd ar y cwrs addysg gan gofio
oed, dawn a gallu’r disgybl.

ü datblygu medrau a deallusrwydd mathemategol, gwyddonol a thechnolegol
trwy brofiadau perthnasol sy’n adlewyrchu’r newidiadau o fewn ein byd.

ü datblygu hunanfynegiant trwy gerddoriaeth, drama, celf ac addysg
gorfforol.

ü creu ymwybyddiaeth o’r angen am lendid personol, moesgarwch a chwrteisi.

ü hybu arferion diogelwch yn yr ysgol, y cartref a’r gymdeithas.

ü creu cysylltiad agos rhwng y cartref a’r ysgol er mwyn i rieni ac athrawon
weithio mewn cytgord er lles pob disgybl.

ü creu’r fath awyrgylch a naws lle mae pawb sy’n gysylltiedig â’r ysgol yn cael
boddhad.

 

 

 

Ysgol Ifor Bach is a Welsh medium primary school that is firmly rooted in the friendly village of Abertridwr, near Caerphilly town. It provides high quality Welsh-medium education to over 270 pupils with English introduced in Year 3. This ensures that all the pupils leave the school competent and confident in their use of both languages and thoroughly prepared for the transition to Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni. The school provides a range of rich educational experiences and prepares the pupils to become responsible bilingual citizens who respect each other, their peers, their heritage and their environment.

You are invited as parents to participate in all the school’s activities, and we look forward to a happy, successful and fruitful partnership during your child’s primary education.

 

Welsh is the official language at our school.. It is the only medium of instruction in the Foundation Phase. English is introduced at Key Stage 2. To fulfil the Education Authority’s bilingual policy, teaching resources of a high standard are provided to ensure that pupils are able to express themselves fluently and easily, verbally and in writing, in Welsh and in English by the time they transfer to secondary education.

 

 

General Aims of Ysgol Ifor Bach:

· to ensure that every pupil is at ease in a Welsh and Welsh-speaking environment.

· to motivate every pupil to develop to the utmost of his/her ability, intellectually, culturally, emotionally, socially and physically.

to encourage every pupil to nurture and acquire the necessary skills to become a proficient communicator, in Welsh mainly and in English as another language.

to appreciate our own moral values and those of the world at large, creating an awareness of the needs of other children and people.

to ensure that every pupil has a valuable contribution in a healthy, vibrant society.

to create an awareness of and a desire for a spiritual dimension to life, a respect for religious principles and toleration of people of other religions and ethnic backgrounds.

to develop the basic skills in every aspect of the curriculum whilst appreciating the different age, aptitude and ability of each pupil.

to develop mathematical, scientific and technical knowledge, skills and understanding through relevant experiences that reflects the changes occurring in our world.

to develop self-expression through music, drama, art and physical education.

to create an awareness of the need for personal hygiene, good manners and courtesy.

to promote safe practices at the school, in the home and in society in general.

to create a close link between the home and the school to enable parents and teachers to work in harmony for the benefit of every pupil.

to create such an ethos and environment that all associated with the school find contentment.
